As runners, you all know more than most about pushing your body to its limits — and we’re willing to bet that you love inspiring running stories. And do we have one for you!
The LONG HAUL 100 follows Katie Rozar through the Florida wilderness on her training to run a 100 mile ultra-marathon for the first time. Katie approaches running from a scientific angle, turning her training into an equation to test her mental and physical abilities. But as the race begins to weigh on her we see there is no perfect calculation, only the drive to finish and a strong support system.
This film is part of a block of other short films in the Through Women’s Eyes International Film Festival, taking place VIRTUALLY March 5-8 — so yes, you can watch it from the comfort of your own home and eat all the snacks you want. With the purchase of a ticket, you’ll also have access to the filmmaker Q&A following the film, as well as a virtual awards ceremony on Monday. Proceeds benefit the global gender equity programs of UN Women, so buy yourself a ticket, give one to a running buddy as a gift, and get ready to be inspired!
$10 for the block that includes this film and a couple others, and that also includes a Q&A with some of the filmmakers (and you may recognize one of the Zoom hosts, Kristen Seymour)
The festival link is here: https://twe2021.eventive.org/welcome — all films, trailers, tickets, etc can be found there, and it’s also the platform on which people will be able to access and watch the films the weekend of March 5.
