Dollar Dynasty presents service awards

Every year since 2003, Dollar Dynasty has honored its helpers for their service to the community. Unfortunately, this year, the 17th Annual Dollar Dynasty Share the Dream Awards luncheon had to be postponed because of the pandemic. As founder of Dollar Dynasty, Victoria Brown has ensured that service to her clients in Newtown and surrounding communities has not been interrupted this year.

None of this is possible without the help of her “angels” – those who serve the community and help Dollar Dynasty. Since it is unlikely that the awards luncheon will take place, Dollar Dynasty would still like to announce the 2020 awards.

The Distinguished Service Award is presented to Derek Bilobram, a recent graduate of Bayshore High School. Post-graduation, Bilobram joined the Navy and is about to graduate his specialized training. Bilobram and his grandmother Claudia Chester have been friends of Dollar Dynasty since 2004.

The 2020 Golden Support Award is presented to Sue Walker of Osprey. Walker has been a member of the Dollar Dynasty family since 2003. She has served on the board and has helped with food distribution, special events, donated clothing and offered financial support. Walker has been Dollar Dynasty’s Golden Girl.

The 2020 Rising Star Award is presented to Booker High School graduate Charlotte Corporan. Corporan is studying at Rollins College and hopes to join the Peace Corps.

The 2020 Community Service Award goes to Dr. Robert Parnes from the Manasota Track Club. Each year he and his club have generously donated toys for Dollar Dynasty’s toy drive.

Dollar Dynasty continues to provide much needed help to the community. It provides weekly food baskets, clothing, school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets and toys for Christmas. Donations can be made to Dollar Dynasty Inc., P.O. Box 5975, Sarasota, FL 34277.

If you want to volunteer or drop off food, Dollar Dynasty is located at 1922 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Sarasota, FL. Call 941-955-8091.
