Every year the Manasota Track Club (MTC) is run by a team of volunteers who give countless hours to ensure club events are planned and executed. In an effort to position 2022 as MTC’s best year yet, we extend an invitation for YOU to participate.
We are excited to share these openings with all MTC members and hope that you will consider plugging in and supporting your club in a deeper and more meaningful way. Over the past several years our board of directors has invited new members to serve, and you have stepped up big time! By doing this, different and fresh ideas are shared allowing the club to grow and prosper.
The following positions are available:
Board Secretary This role will attend the monthly board meetings and any special board meetings called throughout the year, record meeting minutes and distribute for publication in the MTC quarterly newsletter.
Time Commitment: will vary based on board and committee involvement. _______________________________________________________________
General Board Member Board members are required to attend monthly board meeting, held the first Wednesday of every month, starting at 6PM, at the Fruitville Road Library. Board members are encouraged to get involved with throughout the year at MTC events and support the mission of our club.

Committee Members In addition, MTC is seeking several members to serve on existing and newly established committees, including marketing, website & communications, social media, volunteer, quarterly Adopt-A-Road clean up, socials, and membership.

MTC Van and Equipment Manager This person is responsible for general upkeep, maintenance and deployment of the MTC van. The van is currently stored at a central location in Sarasota and is used to support sanctioned Manasota Track Club races and specific MTC directed events, including the January 1st Siesta Key beach gathering, annual spring picnic, summer beach runs, Bill’s Beer Run and more. The equipment manager works directly with race directors and MTC race consultants to support sanctioned races by assisting with course marking, set-up, coning and course-sweep. The equipment manager inventories and is responsible for ensuring that all equipment is returned following each supported event.
Time Commitment: Various race weekends throughout the year with assistance from fellow board members and race coordinators. _______________________________________________________________
Summer Picnic Coordinator This person will be responsible for assembling a committee to host the annual MTC picnic. The picnic will be held in May and incorporates a casual run (5K(ish) distance), games and social time for members.
Time Commitment: 15 – 25 hours, leading up to and including the day of the picnic.

Volunteer Coordinator This position plugs in members of MTC for a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year, including the picnic, summer beach runs, sanctioned MTC races and Bill’s Beer Run. The Volunteer Coordinator is also responsible for logging individual volunteer hours for year-end recognition.
Time Commitment: approximately 1-2 hours per month. ______________________________________________________________
